Chapter 27 - The King's Verdict
Victor spat a mouthful of blood onto the floor, trying to force a desperate, twisted sneer. "You can kill me, Luca," he rasped, his voice trembling violently. "But your throne is built on blood. Someone else will always come for your family." Luca released his grip, letting Victor collapse onto the cold concrete floor. Contrary to the criminal's expectation of a bloody execution, Luca detached the magazine from his assault rifle and tossed the weapon aside. "I am not going to kill you," Luca stated, his tone sharp and terrifyingly calm. "Hannah taught me that true power isn't measured by how many men you can kill, but by how many you can protect." Right on cue, the deafening wail of dozens of police cruisers and FBI tactical vehicles echoed outside the warehouse. Thanks to the undeniable financial evidence Hannah and the intelligence team had compiled during their cyber counterattack, Victor Sterling was officially the most wanted federal fugitive in the country. By handing Victor over to the law, Luca permanently severed the final roots of the Obsidian Syndicate, ensuring this criminal would rot in solitary confinement for the rest of his life, exactly like the traitor Marcus Vance.
