Chapter 10 - The Unshakable Fortress

Life inside the Moretti estate settled into a rhythm of absolute, unyielding happiness.

The dark days of betrayal, paralyzed limbs, and whispered nightmares were nothing more than ghosts of the past, buried deep beneath the foundation of a family built on absolute loyalty, fierce protection, and unconditional love.

Inside the grand library, the fireplace crackled with a warm, amber flame.

Luca sat comfortably in his leather armchair, reading a book, while Sophia curled up in his lap, fast asleep with her head resting heavily against his chest, clutching a stuffed teddy bear.

Hannah walked into the library, carrying a tray of hot cocoa with tiny marshmallows. She smiled softly as she saw her husband—the most feared mafia boss in the country—sitting completely immobilized, terrified of waking the sleeping little girl in his arms.

“Need some help rescuing you, Boss?” Hannah teased softly, setting the tray on the coffee table.

Luca flashed a warm, knowing smirk, his piercing eyes softening as he looked up at his wife. “Never. This is the only trap I ever want to be caught in.”

Hannah walked over, leaning down to press a tender kiss to Luca’s lips, before gently brushing a stray curl from Sophia’s peaceful face.

The Moretti empire was richer, stronger, and more powerful than ever before—not because of guns, money, or fear, but because of the unbreakable love that guarded its gates. The monsters in the dark had tried to destroy them, but instead, they had only forged a dynasty that would last for generations.

What would you do if a simple waitress walked into your life and revealed she had been secretly protecting your child from your most trusted friend?
