Chapter 42 - The Sovereign Trust

Thousands of miles away, nestled deep within the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps, a high-tech boardroom suspended over a breathtaking, icy abyss hummed with lethal tension. This was the sanctum of The Sovereign Trust—the invisible cabal of global billionaires, disgraced aristocrats, and shadow brokers who had truly bankrolled the Beaumont money-laundering operations. The catastrophic data dump triggered by Marcus and Claire had evaporated three trillion dollars of their illicit wealth overnight. Governments were collapsing, shell companies were being seized by Interpol, and Director Vance was currently rotting in an undisclosed black site, singing like a canary to save his own neck.
Sitting at the head of the obsidian table was Lord Julian Sterling, a British aristocrat whose immaculate, tailored charcoal suit hid the soul of a psychopath. Sterling sipped a glass of sixty-year-old scotch, staring at the massive digital monitors displaying Marcus and Claire’s faces. Surrounding him were the most dangerous financial predators on earth, and they were terrified. "Vance was a useful idiot, but his failure has exposed our arteries," Sterling stated, his voice a smooth, venomous purr that commanded absolute silence. "Marcus Reed and his daughter did not just steal our ledgers. They shattered our myth of invincibility. They must be erased, completely and publicly, to restore order to our global infrastructure."
Sterling tapped a silver console on the table. The heavy mahogany doors of the boardroom opened, and a towering, faceless nightmare stepped into the light. The man wore a tailored black tactical suit, his face completely obscured by a smooth, reflective ballistic mask. He was known only as The Architect—a rogue mercenary commander who specialized in hunting Tier-One government assets. "The bounty on Marcus Reed and the girl is now five hundred million dollars," Sterling declared, looking up at the masked killer. "I don't care how many men you lose. I don't care what cities you have to burn. Bring me their heads, and bring me the phantom they call El Sombra." The Architect gave a slow, mechanical nod. The hunt for the apex predators had officially begun.
