Chapter 16 - The Phantom Syndicate Across the Atlantic

The autumn winds whistled sharply through the reinforced glass of the penthouse windows, carrying the distant hum of Manhattan traffic.
Peace had finally settled over the Caruso estate, but in the clandestine underworld of international finance, a storm was brewing.
Marcus Vance’s arrest had sent shockwaves through the corporate elite, but unknown to Dominic and Julian, Marcus was merely a regional pawn.
Far across the Atlantic Ocean, in a heavily secured boardroom overlooking the freezing waters of Zurich, a much darker power was awakening.
Viktor Rostova, an elusive billionaire arms dealer and cartel financier, stared at a glowing terminal displaying Marcus Vance’s frozen assets.
A slow, cold smile crept across Viktor’s scarred face as he tapped a diamond-encrusted fountain pen against the mahogany table.
"Marcus was always too arrogant, too obsessed with local power," Viktor murmured to his silent, heavily armed subordinates standing in the shadows.
"He thought he could swallow the Caruso empire whole without paying tribute to the Syndicate."
"Sir, the federal indictments in New York have compromised our primary laundering channels through the Newark shipping terminals," his chief operational officer reported grimly.
"If Dominic and Julian Caruso continue their internal audit, they will uncover our offshore accounts within seventy-two hours."
Viktor stood up slowly, adjusting his bespoke velvet jacket with chilling composure, his eyes gleaming with dangerous intent.
"Then we don't let them finish the audit," Viktor whispered, his voice carrying the weight of a death sentence.

"Prepare a private charter flight to New York. It is time we handle this American family business personally."
