Chapter 12 - The Storm in the Boardroom and the Fall of the Corrupt Elite

The grand executive boardroom on the fiftieth floor of Caruso Tower was packed to absolute capacity.
The remaining senior partners and executive directors—those who had secretly aligned themselves with Marcus Vance—sat around the massive mahogany table.
Their faces were tense, sweating under the harsh lighting as rumors of federal raids and internal investigations began to leak through the corporate network.
The heavy double doors swung open with a sharp, echoing slam, instantly silencing the nervous whispers rippling through the room.
Dominic Caruso strode into the boardroom with slow, measured steps, radiating an aura of absolute, uncompromised power.
Directly beside him walked Julian Caruso, dressed in a sharp black suit with his injured arm supported by a discreet shoulder sling, looking every bit the ruthless executive he had always been.
Gasps echoed around the table as several board members turned pale, staring at Julian as if they were looking straight at a ghost risen from the grave.
“Good morning, gentlemen,” Dominic’s voice cut through the heavy silence like a razor-sharp blade.
“I trust you’ve all been enjoying your tenure on the board during my brother’s highly exaggerated absence.”
Federal prosecutor Daniel Thorne—who had secretly attended the meeting to protect his corrupt investments—stood up abruptly from his seat.
“This is an outrage!” Thorne shouted, pointing an accusing finger toward Julian.
“That man is legally dead! His death certificate was filed and approved by the state of New Jersey eighteen months ago!”
Julian offered a cold, mocking smile, stepping forward until he stood directly across the table from the panicked federal prosecutor.
“Sorry to disappoint your fraudulent paperwork, Daniel,” Julian said smoothly, tossing a heavy leather briefcase onto the polished mahogany wood.
“My death certificate was about as legitimate as the shell companies you and Marcus used to launder cartel money through our shipping ports.”
Daniel Thorne’s face turned the color of ash as he backed away from the table, his hands trembling violently.
“You have no proof... this is an illegal fabrication—”
“Is it?” Thomas Sterling asked loudly from the doorway as he stepped into the room carrying a stack of encrypted hard drives.
“We just transmitted the complete financial ledger, encrypted emails, and wire transfer logs extracted from Sarah Jenkins and Marcus Vance's private servers directly to the FBI’s internal anti-corruption division.”
“Federal marshals are already securing your offices downtown, Mr. Thorne,” Thomas added with a chilling smile.
Before the corrupt prosecutor could reach for the door handle, two armed federal agents stepped out from the private elevator alcove, snapping heavy steel cuffs onto his wrists.
The remaining board members who had conspired with Marcus sat frozen in terror, realizing their multi-billion-dollar empire of corruption had completely collapsed in a single morning.
Dominic leaned forward, resting both hands on the edge of the mahogany table as he looked down at the disgraced executives.

“Effective immediately, every single asset belonging to the conspirators is frozen and seized by the Caruso estate,” Dominic announced, his voice echoing with absolute finality.
“Meeting adjourned.”
