Chapter 72 - the venomous whisper

Before Tessa could even analyze the ancient coin, the massive digital monitors in her executive office violently flickered. The highly encrypted Rossi security grid experienced a brutal, localized override. The screens turned pitch black, followed by the appearance of a chilling, distorted audio waveform.
"Don Salvatore thought he buried the debts of the old world," a raspy, deeply accented voice echoed through the pristine office. It was speaking the exact same rare Palermo dialect that Tessa had used to claim her birthright decades ago. "But blood debts do not die with old men. I am Dante, the true heir of the sicilian throne."
Tessa did not flinch. Her dark eyes remained perfectly calm, radiating the terrifying, absolute composure of a queen who had crushed countless empires before. Dante claimed that Isabella’s old cartel had owed his family millions, and he was here to collect the Rossi estate as payment.
