Chapter 8 - The House Of Cards Collapses Entirely

With Flynn Vance behind bars and Selina Cole facing state prosecution,

the remaining pillars of their social circle began to crumble.

Friends who had once fawned over Flynn at charity galas and country clubs suddenly acted as though they had never met him.

Invitations stopped arriving,

phone numbers were blocked,

and their names were quietly erased from high-society guest lists.

Selina found herself evicted from her luxury high-rise apartment after her rent checks bounced due to frozen assets.

She stood on the sidewalk in the freezing rain,

surrounded by three cheap cardboard boxes containing all her worldly possessions.

Passbyers walked past her without a second glance,

recognizing her face from the viral news broadcasts detailing her wicked scheme.

Desperate and shivering,

Selina pulled out her cracked smartphone and dialed Flynn's private prison ID number.

The call connected through the prison's monitored inmate communication system after a series of automated warning beeps.

“Flynn? Flynn,

please,

you have to help me,

they evicted me from my apartment,

I have nowhere to go!” Selina wept hysterically.

On the other end of the line,

sitting in a cold concrete visiting booth,

Flynn let out a chilling,

joyless laugh.

“Help you,

Selina?” Flynn's voice was hoarse,

stripped of all warmth and humanity.

“You destroyed my life,

you lied to me,

you manipulated me into stabbing my wife and killing my unborn children,

and you expect my help?” “We were supposed to be together! Mabel was in our way!” Selina screamed into the receiver.

“Mabel was the only good thing that ever happened to me,

and I threw her away for a monster,

” Flynn whispered fiercely.

“I hope you rot on the streets,

Selina,

I hope you feel every ounce of the agony you inflicted on us.

” The automated recording interrupted with a mechanical click: *‘Your inmate call has expired.

Thank you for using Securus.

’* The line went dead,

leaving Selina standing alone in the rain with her cardboard boxes,

abandoned by the very man she ruined.

Back at the lakeside estate,

Mabel Vance stood before a massive memorial plaque installed in her private garden.

Etched into polished black granite were two tiny angel wings and the names she had chosen for her lost twins: Leo and Liam.

She placed a fresh bouquet of white roses at the base of the stone,

brushing her fingers gently against the cold marble.

“You are avenged,

my little ones,

” Mabel whispered,

a single tear slipping down her cheek before she regained her composure.

“Your mother will make sure that the world knows your strength,

and no one will ever hurt our family again.

” Julian stepped up beside her,

placing a comforting hand on her shoulder without saying a word.

They stood together in silence as the autumn wind whispered through the trees,

closing one tragic chapter and opening a triumphant new era.
