Chapter 4 - The Boardroom Coup And Apex Capital's Takeover
The sun rose over Chicago,
casting a harsh morning light across the executive boardroom of Vance Global.
Emergency board meetings were rarely called with such urgency,
but the arrest of CEO Flynn Vance had sent shockwaves through Wall Street.
The heavy oak doors swung open,
and Julian Vance strode into the room accompanied by a team of top-tier corporate attorneys.
He didn't sit in the standard attendee seats; instead,
he walked straight to the head of the table and sat in Flynn's vacant leather chair.
The senior board members murmured anxiously among themselves,
staring at Julian with a mixture of fear and confusion.
“Order,
gentlemen,
” Julian commanded,
his voice cutting through the chatter like a surgical scalpel.
“As you are all well aware,
your esteemed CEO and founder,
Flynn Vance,
was arrested last night on federal charges of attempted murder and conspiracy.
” Sir Arthur Pendelton,
the senior board director,
adjusted his spectacles and slammed his hand onto the mahogany table.
“Mr.
Vance,
you cannot simply walk in here and take over the executive seat without a formal shareholder vote!” Julian smiled coldly,
opening a leather-bound folio and sliding copies across the polished table to every director.
“Take a look at the documents in front of you,
Sir Arthur,
and check the latest institutional ownership filings.
” “Over the last forty-eight hours,
Apex Capital has acquired a controlling fifty-one percent voting stake in Vance Global.
” “We bought out your distressed shares while your stock price was plummeting in pre-market trading.
” The color drained from Sir Arthur's face as he scanned the legal documents,
confirming that Apex Capital now owned the entire enterprise.
“How… how is that even possible? Vance Global is worth billions!” Arthur stammered in absolute disbelief.
“Flynn was too busy protecting his mistress to notice his own financial leverage crumbling beneath his feet,
” Julian replied smoothly.
“And now,
under my sister Mabel Vance's direct instructions,
we are restructuring the entire corporation.
” “Every executive who enabled Flynn's reckless behavior,
every board member who looked the other way,
will be terminated immediately.
” “Effective immediately,
Vance Global is being rebranded as Apex-Vance Holdings,
and my sister will assume the role of Chairperson.
” “You cannot do this! Mabel is recovering in a hospital bed!” another board member protested frantically.
“Mabel is wide awake,
sharper than ever,
and ready to sign the execution papers for this entire board,
” Julian stated flatly.
“Security will escort those of you who refuse to cooperate out of the building within the next ten minutes.
” “The rest of you will vote unanimously in favor of the restructuring,
or you will join Flynn in federal detention.

” No one dared to speak another word,
the heavy silence of absolute defeat settling over the boardroom as the Vance empire officially fell.
