Chapter 1 - The Hospital Room Ultimatum And The First Crack In The Iron Wall

Mabel looked at Flynn with eyes as cold as glacial ice,

feeling no warmth left in her shattered heart.

The sterile smell of the hospital room choked the silence between them,

thick with unexpressed horror and betrayal.

Flynn stammered,

his face draining of all color,

reaching out a trembling hand toward her blanket.

She pulled herself back against the pillows,

her voice steady despite the searing pain in her abdomen.

“Do not touch me,

Flynn,

” she whispered,

every word a razor blade cutting through the air.

“You made your choice the moment you plunged that knife into my flesh without even letting me speak a single word.

” Flynn shook his head frantically,

tears spilling over his chiseled cheekbones.

“Mabel,

I swear to God,

Selina told me you attacked her,

she had a scratch,

I lost my mind,

I didn't know you were carrying our babies.

” “You didn't know because you never cared to look,

Flynn,

” Mabel retorted,

her gaze piercing right through his soul.

“You were too busy playing savior to your precious first love,

too blind to see that she was manipulating every single second of it.

” Dr.

Marcus Reed stood firm beside the monitor,

his arms crossed over his white lab coat,

observing the crumbling titan of Vance Global.

“Mr.

Vance,

your presence here is a violation of hospital protocol,

and more importantly,

a violation of human decency.

” Flynn glared at the doctor through his tears,

flashing a remnant of his arrogant corporate dominance.

“Stay out of this,

Doctor,

this is a private matter between me and my wife.

” “Your wife has made her stance crystal clear,

Mr.

Vance,

” Dr.

Reed replied coldly,

stepping closer to shield Mabel.

“She wants you out of this room,

out of her life,

and behind bars for attempted murder.

” Flynn staggered back as if struck by a physical blow,

his chest heaving as the gravity of his actions finally began to settle in.

“No,

Mabel,

we can fix this,

we can go home,

I'll provide the best doctors,

we can have more children—” “More children?” Mabel laughed,

a haunting,

heartbroken sound that echoed against the white walls.

“You murdered our twins,

Flynn,

you killed our flesh and blood with your own hands to protect a liar.

” “I want you out of my sight before I call hospital security and have you dragged out in handcuffs.

” The door to the private suite pushed open with a soft click,

and a tall,

sharp-featured man in an expensive charcoal suit stepped inside.

It was Julian Vance,

Mabel's older brother and Managing Director of Apex Capital,

a ruthless corporate predator in his own right.

Julian surveyed the scene with murderous intent,

his cold eyes locking onto Flynn like a hawk spotting a wounded rabbit.

“Well,

well,

well,

” Julian murmured,

stepping forward and stopping just inches from Flynn.

“If it isn't the mighty CEO of Vance Global,

standing in a hospital room he turned into a slaughterhouse.

” Flynn swallowed hard,

recognizing the dangerous predator standing before him.

“Julian… I can explain—” Before Flynn could finish his sentence,

Julian's fist connected squarely with Flynn's jaw,

sending him crashing into the metal cart.

Medical instruments rattled violently,

crashing to the floor as Flynn sprawled out on the linoleum.

“That is for my sister,

” Julian growled,

rolling up his sleeves as security guards rushed into the room.

“Get this piece of trash out of my sight before I finish what you started,

” Julian commanded the guards.

Two burly security officers grabbed Flynn by his tailored shoulders,

hauling him up as he stared helplessly at Mabel.

Mabel did not blink,

May you like

did not shed another tear,

and turned her face toward the window as her husband was dragged away in disgrace.
