Chapter 7 - The Web of Treason

In her corner office on the top floor of Vextor Dynamics,

Victoria stood looking out at the city lights as night fell over San Diego.

The executive room had been redecorated overnight,

cleared of Christopher's ostentatious trophies and replaced with sleek,

modern minimalism.

Marcus Vance entered the office quietly,

holding an encrypted tablet connected directly to an offshore financial audit team.

"Raymond Lawson just initiated an emergency transfer,"

Marcus reported,

placing the tablet on Victoria's desk.

"He is trying to move twelve million dollars out of the Julian Lawson Trust into a Swiss bank account."

Victoria picked up the tablet,

her eyes tracking the digital routing numbers with cool precision.

"He thinks he can liquidate the trust before Evelyn completes the formal audit,"

Victoria observed,

a sharp smile touching her lips.

"Michelle is currently with him at a private hangar near the Tucson airport,"

Marcus added,

zooming in on satellite surveillance imagery.

"They have a chartered flight scheduled to leave for Zurich at midnight."

"Does Evelyn know?"

Victoria asked,

setting the tablet down.

"Evelyn is already aware,"

Marcus confirmed,

"but she lacks the federal authority to freeze international wire transfers on short notice."

"She needs your legal team to intervene using the Vextor debt covenant files."

Victoria walked to the glass window,

watching the rain streak down the pane.

Raymond had played a long game,

manipulating Christopher's insecurities while quietly bleeding the family trust dry.

He had used Michelle as a weapon to create fake heirs,

hoping to secure long-term access to Julian's multi-million dollar estate.

They had assumed Victoria would walk away broken and humiliated after the divorce,

leaving them free to execute their scheme without opposition.

They had completely underestimated her.

"Call the Federal Banking Commission,"

Victoria instructed Marcus,

her tone firm and decisive.

"File an immediate injunction based on the fraudulent asset transfers Raymond executed using Vextor securities."

"Flag every account associated with the Julian Lawson Trust,

Michelle Vance,

and Raymond Lawson."

"And contact federal law enforcement,"

she added,

turning back to her desk.

"Inform them that two fugitives are attempting to flee the country with stolen trust capital."

"What about Christopher?"

Marcus asked,

watching her closely.

"Christopher is no longer relevant,"

Victoria answered calmly,

opening a new project file on her desktop screen.

"He broke the foundation of our life for a lie,"

"and now he will watch that lie burn to the ground from the sidelines."

Marcus nodded in respect and left the office to carry out the orders.

Victoria picked up her pen,

ready to draft the new corporate expansion plan for Vextor Dynamics.

The traitors were cornered,

May you like

the trap was sprung,

and the final chapter of their deception was about to be written.
