Chapter 59

"Daddy, look!" Ruby cheered, running up to the terrace and holding out a small, perfectly intact dandelion. "I picked this for you!" Domenico dropped to one knee, ignoring the pristine fabric of his trousers. He accepted the small flower with immense care, his large, heavily tattooed hands impossibly gentle. "It is beautiful, little bird," Domenico murmured, his deep, raspy voice filled with profound tenderness. He pressed a warm kiss to her forehead. "Just like you." Evelyn smiled, resting her hand on Domenico’s broad shoulder. The sheer, deeply masculine power he possessed was completely surrendered to the two women who held his heart. "The estate is quiet today," Evelyn noted softly, her crisp American accent musical and calm. "The perimeter is secure," Domenico confirmed, standing up and wrapping his arm securely around her waist. "There are no more threats, Evelyn. The borders are absolute." He looked out over his sprawling, luxurious empire. He had navigated a treacherous world of betrayal and violence, systematically dismantling every obstacle with terrifying precision. He had forged a fortress of blood and iron, ensuring that the dark, sociopathic reality of his profession would never touch the innocent joy of his child.
