Chapter 25

The aftermath of the Cole syndicate's destruction rippled through the underworld like a seismic shock. Domenico’s ruthless efficiency and absolute power cemented his status as the untouchable king of the city. The remaining factions fell into line quickly, eager to avoid the wrath that had annihilated the Cole family in a single night. A week later, Domenico stood in his private office at the estate, pouring a glass of expensive bourbon. The door opened softly, and Tony stepped in. "Boss, she's here." Domenico nodded slowly. "Bring her in." A moment later, Valentina entered the office. She was a ghost of her former self. Her luxurious gowns were gone, replaced by plain, unremarkable clothing. Her fair skin was pale and drawn, the arrogant fire in her eyes entirely extinguished. She looked at Domenico, trembling, expecting execution. "You came," Domenico said quietly, leaning against his desk. Valentina fell to her knees, weeping openly. "Please," she begged, her voice broken. "My father is dead. My brother is in a coma. I have nothing. Please, let me see my son." Domenico looked down at her, his expression unreadable. He had won the war, secured his daughter's future, and removed every threat to his throne. The woman on the floor was no longer an enemy; she was simply a casualty of her own hubris.
