Chapter 36

The Falcone estate was a fortress of cinematic perfection, bathed in the golden, non-yellowing light of the late afternoon when Domenico returned. He bypassed the grand atrium entirely, moving straight to his subterranean tactical command center. His senior capos were already assembled, their white American features tight with anticipation. Domenico shed his tailored suit jacket, his deeply masculine frame dominating the room. The artistic tattoos on his neck and chest were fully visible beneath his unbuttoned crisp white shirt. "The Cassano syndicate has established a forward operating base in the financial district," Domenico announced, his voice slow and heavily measured. "Julian Cassano is commanding from the penthouse of the Orion Tower." "The Orion Tower is heavily secured, Boss," his silver-haired capo noted, pulling up digital blueprints on a massive glowing monitor. "They have private security in the lobby, dedicated elevators, and reinforced steel doors on the top floor. A frontal assault will draw the police within minutes." "We do not execute a frontal assault," Domenico replied, his cold eyes studying the blueprints. "We cut the power to the upper grid. We disable their communications. We ascend through the exterior maintenance shafts." He looked around the room, his intimidating gaze locking onto each of his men. "I want a twelve-man infiltration squad. Suppressed weapons only. We move tonight. The Cassano bloodline ends before sunrise." The capos nodded in unison, their loyalty to the Boss absolute. Domenico walked out of the command center and headed upstairs to the nursery. He had to ensure his daughter felt entirely safe before he transformed into the apex predator of the night.
