Chapter 11 - The Wrath Of The Absent Father And The Private Jet

The incredibly dark,

terrifyingly quiet,

overwhelmingly oppressive,

massive,

highly expensive,

incredibly luxurious,

private jet landed slowly,

carefully,

gracefully,

on the wet,

slippery,

completely desolate runway.

Arthur Sterling,

the remarkably wealthy,

dangerously powerful,

completely ruthless,

estranged father of Daniel,

stepped out into the freezing,

bitter,

unforgiving night air.

He was a tall,

imposing,

frighteningly calm man,

wearing a perfectly tailored,

incredibly expensive,

dark charcoal suit.

He did not care about his pathetic,

weak,

foolish son,

who was currently rotting away in a dirty,

smelly,

maximum-security state penitentiary.

He did not care about his incredibly arrogant,

superficial,

manipulative ex-wife,

Margaret,

who was completely ruined,

totally disgraced,

and permanently locked behind heavy iron bars.

Arthur only cared about one single,

important,

inflexible thing,

which was his pristine,

untouchable,

highly respected family legacy.

The massive,

highly publicized federal sting operation had dragged his famous,

powerful,

corporate name through the disgusting,

filthy,

unforgiving mud.

The greedy,

sensationalist news media had painted the Sterling family as a chaotic,

criminal,

completely dysfunctional mess,

and Arthur absolutely,

completely,

violently hated being publicly embarrassed.

He walked slowly,

deliberately,

confidently down the metal stairs of the aircraft,

his sharp,

calculating,

cold eyes scanning the dark,

empty tarmac.

A massive,

heavily armored,

completely black SUV was waiting silently,

patiently,

obediently near the private hangar.

A highly trained,

incredibly lethal,

completely amoral private mercenary named Victor stood rigidly,

quietly,

respectfully beside the open vehicle door.

Victor was a terrifying,

brutal,

efficient man,

with a thick,

ugly,

jagged scar running violently down his pale,

expressionless face.

"Welcome back to the city,

Mr. Sterling,"

Victor said quietly,

his deep,

gravelly,

menacing voice completely devoid of any human emotion.

"I am incredibly furious,

Victor,"

Arthur replied smoothly,

sliding gracefully,

elegantly into the warm,

plush,

leather interior of the massive vehicle.

"My pathetic,

useless idiot of a son allowed a simple,

unimportant,

low-class nurse to completely destroy our flawless,

perfect reputation."

"The public relations damage is extremely severe,

sir,"

Victor agreed flatly,

closing the heavy,

bulletproof door with a loud,

solid,

reassuring thud.

"I do not care about public relations,

Victor,"

Arthur whispered dangerously,

pouring himself a glass of expensive,

rare,

aged whiskey from the crystal decanter inside the car.

"I want absolute,

total,

uncompromising revenge against this Emily Carter,

and I want to completely,

utterly,

permanently destroy her meddling,

arrogant,

police officer mother."

Arthur took a slow,

deliberate,

calming sip of his expensive drink,

his dark,

evil,

malicious mind already formulating a brilliant,

devastating,

unstoppable plan.

He knew that attacking a highly decorated,

heavily armed,

experienced police officer directly would be foolish,

risky,

and incredibly dangerous.

Instead,

he planned to systematically,

quietly,

ruthlessly dismantle their perfectly rebuilt,

happy,

peaceful lives from the inside out.

He was going to use his immense,

unlimited,

staggering wealth to buy their complete,

absolute destruction,

leaving them with absolutely nothing,

feeling entirely hopeless,

completely broken,

and totally desperate.

"I want you to heavily monitor the new hospital trauma unit,

Victor,"

Arthur commanded strictly,

staring coldly,

blankly out the dark,

tinted window of the speeding vehicle.

"Find every single,

tiny,

insignificant weakness in Emily's new,

precious,

important medical career,

and completely,

mercilessly exploit it until she is totally ruined."

"It will be done immediately,

sir,"

Victor promised darkly,

his cold,

dead,

unfeeling eyes reflecting the harsh,

bright,

passing streetlights of the busy,

chaotic city.

The nightmare was far from over,

because the ultimate,

most terrifying boss had finally arrived,

May you like

and he was incredibly,

insatiably thirsty for absolute destruction.
