Chapter 15 - The Edelweiss Vault

The armored Mercedes sedan glided silently through the cobblestone streets of Zurich’s historic financial district,

its tires hissing faintly against the wet asphalt of a sub-zero Alpine morning.

Towering Gothic stone facades loomed on either side,

housing centuries of secretive banking history untouched by ordinary laws.

We pulled up directly in front of the imposing granite doors of the Edelweiss Trust headquarters,

a fortress of discretion where global fortunes were hidden from the light of day.

The driver popped the locks,

and I stepped out into the freezing Swiss air,

pulling the collar of my cashmere overcoat high against my neck.

Clara emerged right behind me,

impeccably dressed in a tailored wool coat,

her leather briefcase clutched securely in her gloved hand.

“Remember,

” she murmured quietly as we mounted the grand stone steps.

“We’re here under the guise of an emergency corporate asset restructuring authorized by the Swiss Federal Banking Commission.

”

“And if they ask to verify our credentials?”

“They won't,

” she replied with a sharp,

confident smirk.

“I already injected our digital credentials into their master database forty minutes ago from the jet.

”

“To their security systems,

we’re authorized federal auditors with absolute jurisdiction.

”

The heavy brass doors were swung open by a rigidly polite receptionist who bowed slightly as we swept past into the grand marble lobby.

Crystal chandeliers cast a cold,

patrician light over polished granite floors and towering neoclassical pillars.

A senior bank executive—distinguished,

silver-haired,

and wearing a bespoke three-piece suit—hurried toward us with a nervous,

ingratiating smile.

“Mr.

Vale,

Miss Whitmore,

” the executive greeted,

extending a hand.

“I am Director Hans Keller of Edelweiss Trust.

”

“We were not expecting an audit delegation from Vale Holdings until next month.

”

I didn't shake his hand.

I simply stared at him with absolute,

freezing silence.

Clara stepped forward smoothly,

her tone carrying the chilling weight of absolute authority.

“Director Keller,

we have reason to believe that your primary subterranean vault is currently harboring illicit assets linked to the Syndicate of the Seven Rings.

”

“Open the vault immediately.

”

Keller’s face drained of color,

his ingratiating smile instantly replaced by a mask of cold panic.

“That.

.

.

that is entirely confidential client data,

” he stammered,

stepping back slightly.

“We operate under strict Swiss banking secrecy laws.

”

“Swiss secrecy laws don't apply when federal mandates and international arrest warrants are already cascading through your mainframe,

” Clara retorted,

opening her briefcase and slamming a heavy digital tablet onto the receptionist’s mahogany desk.

The screen flashed a blinding array of red compliance warnings and seized asset notices.

“You have two minutes,

Director Keller,

” I said softly,

my voice dropping into an abyss of absolute frost.

May you like

“Before we seize the entire bank and let the Swiss prosecutors dismantle your legacy brick by brick.
