Chapter 29

Victor looked up, his fair skin draining of all color. He scrambled backward, dropping the empty gun. "Alexander! It was a business transaction! I was exiled with nothing! I just wanted what was rightfully mine!"
"Is threatening my child... considered a legitimate business transaction?" Alexander inquired smoothly, lowering his rifle.
"I wouldn't have hurt her!" Victor shrieked, holding his hands up defensively. "I just needed the ransom! Please, we are blood! You can't execute your own family!"
Alexander looked at the trembling traitor. He felt absolutely no mercy. The man had willingly orchestrated a plot to terrorize an eight-year-old girl in broad daylight.
"Does blood excuse high treason?" Alexander asked quietly. "My family is waiting for me at home. You are merely an infection."
He didn't wait for an answer. Alexander drew a sleek, suppressed pistol from his tactical vest and fired a single, flawless shot. The bullet struck Victor perfectly in the chest, ending the traitor's life instantly. Alexander holstered the weapon, his focus instantly shifting.
"Is the warehouse secure, Marcus?" he asked over the comms.

"All hostiles are neutralized, Boss," Marcus reported. "The perimeter is ours."
"Burn the building to the ground," Alexander commanded, his voice returning to a low, lethal hum as he turned to leave the bloodstained office. "Let the ashes send the final message to anyone who dares to cross the Hayes syndicate." The absolute war was finally over.
