Chapter 20 - The Golden Horizon

The massive,
sprawling Vance estate was completely,
beautifully bathed in the warm,
golden,
and incredibly peaceful light of a stunning,
perfect summer sunset.
Five long,
prosperous,
and incredibly successful years had passed quickly,
beautifully since the dark,
terrible day I had been cruelly,
wrongly dragged into that cold,
stale divorce court.
I stood proudly,
elegantly on the massive,
sweeping stone balcony of our luxurious,
historic mansion,
looking out over the vast,
endless acres of beautiful,
green land that rightfully,
legally belonged to my powerful,
unstoppable family.
I was now the absolute,
undisputed,
and incredibly feared CEO of the massive,
global Vance International conglomerate,
having successfully,
brilliantly expanded our incredible,
staggering wealth to completely,
unimaginable new heights.
Eleanor was currently,
happily sitting in a large,
comfortable wicker chair nearby,
reading a thick,
heavy book,
looking incredibly,
beautifully peaceful and completely,
utterly content in her highly deserved,
luxurious retirement.
My brilliant,
perfect,
and incredibly handsome son,
Richard,
was now a highly energetic,
smart,
and incredibly happy five-year-old boy.
He was currently,
loudly running across the massive,
manicured green lawn below,
chasing a large,
friendly,
and incredibly expensive purebred golden retriever with pure,
unadulterated joy.
He had my father's dark,
curly hair,
my own stubborn,
fierce chin,
and the bright,
piercing,
and incredibly intelligent blue eyes of the powerful,
unstoppable Vance dynasty.
He would never,
ever know the cold,
bitter sting of deep,
crushing poverty,
nor the terrible,
agonizing pain of being completely,
utterly unwanted by a cruel,
heartless world.
He was a beloved,
cherished,
and completely protected prince,
and he would one day rightfully,
proudly inherit an entire,
massive global empire that I had ruthlessly,
brilliantly secured for his bright,
perfect future.
A tall,
respectful butler stepped quietly,
smoothly onto the grand,
sweeping balcony,
carrying a sleek,
silver tray with two tall,
elegant crystal glasses of sparkling,
expensive champagne.
"Thank you,
William,"
I said warmly,
graciously,
taking one tall,
cold glass and handing the other gently,
lovingly to my brilliant,
beautiful mother.
Eleanor stood up gracefully,
smoothly,
walking over to stand closely,
protectively right beside me at the heavy,
carved stone railing.
We looked down together,
lovingly,
proudly at the beautiful,
perfect little boy laughing loudly,
happily in the bright,
golden sunlight.
"You have done incredibly,
absolutely wonderfully,
my beautiful,
perfect daughter,"
Eleanor murmured softly,
tenderly,
raising her tall,
crystal glass in a quiet,
meaningful toast to our massive,
enduring success.
I smiled brightly,
radiantly,
clinking my expensive,
fragile glass gently,
softly against hers,
the bright,
cheerful sound echoing sweetly,
perfectly into the warm,
summer evening air.
The dark,
terrible,
and incredibly painful shadows of my lonely,
broken past were completely,
permanently,
and utterly eradicated.
I was Clara Vance,
the fierce,
unstoppable,
and incredibly powerful billionaire queen,
and my beautiful,
perfect family's massive,
May you like
glorious legacy would completely,
absolutely endure forever.
