Chapter 10 - The Arrival of the Legacy

The massive,

sprawling Vance estate was instantly,

immediately transformed into a highly efficient,

fully operational,

and incredibly advanced private medical facility.

Eleanor had previously,

wisely anticipated this exact,

sudden moment,

and had heavily,

generously invested in a state-of-the-art,

fully equipped delivery suite located entirely,

safely within the massive,

secure walls of our luxurious,

private home.

I was rushed quickly,

carefully down the wide,

brightly lit corridors,

surrounded constantly,

reassuringly by a team of highly trained,

expert doctors and calm,

professional nurses.

The pain was intense,

blinding,

and incredibly,

overwhelmingly powerful,

but I pushed through it bravely,

stubbornly,

knowing that my beautiful,

perfect son was finally,

joyfully making his grand,

highly anticipated entrance into the world.

Eleanor never left my side for a single,

solitary second,

holding my sweaty,

trembling hand tightly,

securely,

whispering constant,

loving words of fierce,

unbreakable encouragement directly into my ringing,

exhausted ears.

"You are so incredibly,

unbelievably strong,

my beautiful,

brave girl,"

she murmured softly,

gently wiping a cool,

damp cloth across my hot,

feverish brow.

"Just a little bit longer,

Clara,

and you will finally,

joyfully meet the beautiful,

perfect little boy who is going to completely,

permanently change our entire,

massive world."

I focused entirely,

intensely on her calm,

steady voice,

using it as an anchor,

a lifeline,

to pull myself through the crashing,

relentless waves of pure,

exhausting agony.

For so many long,

lonely years,

I had faced every single,

terrifying challenge completely,

utterly alone,

always terrified,

always waiting for the inevitable,

crushing failure.

But now,

I was surrounded by absolute,

unconditional love,

protected by an invincible,

fierce mother,

and backed by a massive,

unstoppable global empire.

"Push,

Clara,

give me one more massive,

powerful push!"

the lead obstetrician commanded loudly,

encouragingly,

his face completely,

intensely focused on his crucial,

delicate task.

I gathered every single,

remaining ounce of my physical,

emotional,

and spiritual strength,

screaming loudly,

fiercely as I pushed with all my absolute,

unrelenting might.

And then,

suddenly,

miraculously,

the terrible,

blinding pain stopped entirely,

replaced instantly by the most beautiful,

incredible,

and absolutely magical sound I had ever,

ever heard in my entire,

difficult life.

A loud,

strong,

and perfectly healthy baby's cry echoed brightly,

joyfully throughout the large,

sterile delivery room.

I fell back against the soft,

plush pillows,

gasping heavily,

exhaustedly for clean,

cool air,

tears of pure,

unadulterated joy streaming freely,

uncontrollably down my pale,

sweaty face.

The nurse quickly,

gently cleaned the small,

squirming infant,

wrapping him carefully,

warmly in a soft,

plush blue blanket,

before carefully,

tenderly placing him directly onto my bare,

heaving chest.

I looked down at the tiny,

perfect,

and incredibly beautiful little boy,

my heart swelling,

bursting with a massive,

overwhelming wave of pure,

unconditional love.

He had a thick,

dark head of soft,

curly hair,

and when he slowly,

blinkingly opened his tiny,

perfect eyes,

I saw the exact,

striking shade of bright,

piercing blue that belonged exclusively,

proudly to the powerful,

unbreakable Vance family.

Eleanor leaned over carefully,

gently,

tears pouring heavily,

silently down her beautiful,

ageless face,

reaching out one trembling,

delicate finger to softly,

lovingly stroke the baby's tiny,

warm cheek.

"He is absolutely,

completely perfect,

Clara,"

she whispered brokenly,

overwhelmed by the sheer,

staggering magnitude of this beautiful,

miraculous moment.

"What are you going to name this handsome,

perfect little prince?"

I looked up at my strong,

fierce mother,

then down at my sweet,

innocent son,

knowing exactly,

without a single,

solitary doubt,

what his powerful,

meaningful name had to be.

"His name is Richard,"

I announced clearly,

proudly,

my voice ringing with absolute,

unshakeable certainty.

"Richard Julian is dead,

but Richard Vance is going to live a long,

beautiful,

and incredibly powerful life."

Eleanor let out a loud,

joyous sob,

pressing a warm,

lingering kiss to my sweaty,

exhausted forehead,

before leaning down to kiss her perfect,

precious new grandson.

We were finally,

truly a family,

a strong,

unbreakable dynasty that had survived the darkest,

most terrible storms,

only to emerge brighter,

May you like

stronger,

and absolutely,
