Chapter 9 - The Boardroom Coup

Hell hath no fury like a desperate woman backed into a corporate corner.
Sophia had spent eighteen years building her own powerful network within the Moretti global enterprise.
When Vincent abruptly stripped her of her title and froze her assets, she did not retreat into the shadows to quietly accept defeat.
She picked up her phone and started calling the most ruthless, opportunistic members of the executive board.
She spun a terrifying narrative, claiming that Vincent had suffered a massive psychological breakdown.
She told the board members that Vincent was hallucinating, obsessed with an illegitimate child, and entirely incapable of leading the company.
By Friday afternoon, she had successfully rallied enough rebellious executives to call an emergency vote of no confidence.
Vincent arrived at the sleek, glass-walled boardroom on the fiftieth floor to find his seat occupied by a smug, silver-haired board member named Harrison.
Sophia stood in the corner of the room, wearing a sharp black suit, a triumphant, venomous smile playing on her lips.
"What exactly is the meaning of this meeting?" Vincent demanded, his voice commanding absolute silence in the massive room.
"We are invoking Section Four of the corporate bylaws, Vincent," Harrison stated smoothly, steepling his fingers.
"We believe your recent erratic behavior and sudden dismissal of our Vice President of Acquisitions shows a severe lack of judgment."
Vincent slowly walked around the long mahogany table, his intense gaze locking onto every single traitor in the room.
"My judgment has never been clearer," Vincent growled, stopping directly behind Harrison's chair.
"Sophia Reynolds has been actively embezzling millions of dollars from a private corporate trust fund for nearly two decades."
A loud murmur of shock rippled through the boardroom.
Sophia stepped forward, her face flushed with defensive rage.
"He's lying!" she shouted, pointing an accusatory finger at her husband.
"He is trying to ruin my reputation because I tried to protect the company from a massive extortion attempt by his greedy ex-wife!"
Vincent calmly reached into his tailored briefcase and pulled out a digital drive.
He plugged it directly into the main projector system, projecting a massive spreadsheet onto the glass wall.
"These are the offshore routing numbers, the forged signatures, and the hidden shell companies," Vincent explained coldly.
He tapped a button, and a series of undeniable banking documents illuminated the dark room.
"She didn't just steal from me; she used company resources to launder the money, which makes every single one of you legally complicit if you protect her."
The smug confidence instantly drained from Harrison's face as he stared at the damning financial evidence.
The board members began frantically whispering to each other, realizing that Sophia had played them for absolute fools.
"You are finished, Sophia," Vincent said, turning to look at the woman who had poisoned his life.
"The FBI is currently raiding your private office, and my legal team is filing formal criminal charges."
Sophia let out a horrified gasp, her legs giving out as she collapsed into an empty leather chair.
"You can't do this to the mother of your child," she sobbed, burying her face in her hands.
"You did it to the mother of mine," Vincent replied, his voice devoid of any mercy.
He looked around the dead silent boardroom, asserting his total, unbreakable dominance over his empire.

"Now, if anyone else would like to challenge my leadership, I suggest you walk out that door right now."
Nobody moved a single muscle.
