Chapter 10 - The Phoenix Protocol (FINAL ENDING)Six months later. Lake Como, Italy.

The sun shone brightly over the azure waters of the lake, reflecting off the white marble terrace of a grand villa. Roses bloomed along the balustrades, filling the warm summer air with a sweet fragrance.
Laughter echoed from the gardens below, where children played near the fountain.
Alessia stood on the terrace, dressed in a stunning red silk gown. She walked with complete grace, her steps smooth and confident, showing no trace of the paralysis that had once bound her to a wheelchair.
A pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist from behind, resting gently against her abdomen. Valerio pulled her back against his chest, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"You're thinking too hard," he whispered into her ear, kissing her cheek.
"I'm just thinking about how different my life was a year ago," she smiled, leaning back into his warmth. "At our first wedding, I was falling onto the floor, losing my ability to walk, surrounded by enemies."
"And today," Valerio said, turning her around in his arms to face him, "we renew our vows. In front of people who actually care about us."
Across the terrace, Lucian was busy arguing with Dr. Cole over the vintage of a wine bottle, while a quiet, older man with graying hair and soft blue eyes sat in an armchair, sketching the landscape in a leather notebook.
Nikolai Sokolov looked up from his notebook, smiling warmly at his daughter.
The Siberian rescue mission had been a success. Together with Valerio’s strategic genius and Lucian’s intelligence network, they had breached the black-site facility, freed Nikolai, and handed the biological weaponization data over to the World Health Organization to create open-source medical treatments.
The Bratva had been dismantled from the top down. The Moretti family was bankrupt and imprisoned. Eleanor DeLuca was serving three life sentences in a maximum-security facility.
The DeLuca syndicate was dead. In its place stood the Sokolov-DeLuca Medical Foundation, bringing life-saving treatments to millions across the globe.
"Are you ready, Signora DeLuca?" Valerio asked, offering her his arm.
"Always, Signor DeLuca," she replied, slipping her arm through his.
They walked down the marble steps together toward the garden altar where their true family awaited.
As they took their places under the floral arch, Nikolai stood up and walked over to them. He took Alessia’s hand, placing it gently into Valerio’s.
"I spent fifteen years in the dark," Nikolai said, his voice trembling with emotion. "Praying that my daughter would be safe. I thought I left her with a curse. But you... you showed her that she was a miracle."
"She saved me, Nikolai," Valerio said sincerely. "I was just a man living in the dark until she lit up my world."
The priest smiled, opening the ceremonial book. "We are gathered here today to celebrate a love that survived the storm, conquered the shadows, and brought light to the world."
Alessia looked into Valerio’s deep brown eyes, seeing her entire future reflected in them.
"I, Valerio, take you, Alessia, to be my wife," he swore, his voice strong and steady. "In sickness and in health, in war and in peace, until death parts us."
"I, Alessia, take you, Valerio, to be my husband," she recited, tears of joy sparkling in her eyes. "To hold you when you fall, to walk beside you wherever you go, forever."
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife again," the priest announced. "You may kiss the bride."
Valerio pulled Alessia into his arms, dipping her slightly as he kissed her deeply under the warm Italian sun. The small crowd erupted into cheers and applause.
As they pulled apart, Alessia looked down at her hand, where a simple, elegant platinum band sat beside her diamond ring.
Then, she leaned close to Valerio’s ear, a mischievous, radiant smile gracing her lips.
"Valerio?" she whispered.
"Yes, my love?"
She took his hand and placed it gently over her belly.
"Dr. Cole ran another blood test yesterday morning," she whispered, her eyes shining with absolute happiness. "The foundation isn't the only thing we're growing."
Valerio went completely still. He looked down at her stomach, then back up into her eyes, shock and overwhelming joy washing over his rugged face.
"A... a baby?" he stammered, the dangerous mafia king suddenly turned into a speechless, ecstatic man.
May you like
"A baby," she confirmed, laughing as tears of happiness overflowed. "Our legacy."
Valerio swept her into his arms, lifting her completely off her feet and spinning her around on the sunny terrace as the lake glistened around them—a perfect, unbreakable happy ending born from the ashes of betrayal.
