Chapter 6 - The Festival of LightsIn late November 2026, the grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan was packed to absolute capacity for the annual Sullivan Global Civic & Health Gala.

Over five hundred prominent business leaders, supreme court justices, Marcus Vance, and close friends gathered beneath glittering crystal chandeliers.

Standing at the main presentation podium, wearing an magnificent black tuxedo, was Reed Sullivan. My broad shoulders were squared, my carved face radiating an unshakeable, sovereign authority and deep, inner peace.

Beside me stood six-year-old Hazel and Nora, wearing matching dark navy silk dresses and velvet headbands.

I adjusted the microphone, my deep, resonant baritone echoing cleanly through the high-fidelity speakers:

"Two years ago, I believed that wealth was measured by skyscrapers and stock portfolios," I announced to the quiet room, my eyes settling on Clara, who sat at the head table looking radiant in an emerald silk evening gown. "And then two five-year-old angels stopped me in the snow and taught me that true royalty isn't built on money... it is built on unbroken love, maternal courage, and sovereign grace."

I held my champagne glass high under the glittering lights.

"To my Executive Director, my heart, and my love: Clara Hayes!"

"To Clara!" the entire room echoed in a warm, triumphant chorus, five hundred crystal glasses clinking together under the open sky.
