Chapter 9 - THE NURSERY OF A NEW DYNASTY

Two weeks later,
the presidential penthouse was transformed into a masterpiece of warmth, light, and anticipation.
The nursery was painted in soft tones of cream and pale gold,
filled with handcrafted wooden toys and delicate cashmere blankets.
Eleanor spent every afternoon sitting by the window with me,
sharing stories of my mother, laughing about family history, and knitting tiny socks.
I feel so whole,
I whispered one afternoon,
watching the golden autumn sunset paint Lake Michigan,
having spent my whole life feeling like a broken puzzle piece.
You were never broken, my sweet girl,
Eleanor said softly,
kissing my forehead,
you were just misplaced by fate,
and now nobody will ever dare touch a single hair on your head again.
My phone chimed softly on the side table,
displaying a notification from the legal department confirming that all corporate restructuring was finalized and my appointment as Vice Chairperson of Crawford Holdings was officially registered.
I looked down at my pregnant belly,
feeling a strong, eager kick from my baby boy,
May you like
knowing he would never know hunger, abandonment, or fear,
but would be born into strength, wealth, and fierce, unshakeable love.
